As Hurricane Irma swirled her way through South Florida, our Brickell neighborhood was severely impacted by the storm, as was most of Miami. Although we did not suffer any interior flooding, our beautiful historic building needs some extensive repairs. Landscaping, carpentry, painting and electrical work are necessary to make her look as lovely as ever!
We were fortunate as some of our fellow historic venues suffered greatly. Dade Heritage Trust is working to help the historic assets in our State, County and City Parks and aid in restoration efforts. The Barnacle, Cape Florida, Matheson Hammock, Lummus Park , Simpson Park and the Miami City Cemetery are just but a few public parks that need assistance! We are also furthering our Flagler Cottage Cafe and Bike Rental Public Space Challenge Project on the Miami River.
