Dade Heritage Trust’s offices are in the middle of Brickell – a little historic urban paradise complete with a native garden, birds, bees and butterflies. We operate a Visitors’ Center, too – making DHT the perfect location for walks to explore the dynamic Brickell neighborhood. While seemingly new, Brickell is one of Miami’s earliest neighborhoods where symbols of Miami history mix with contemporary development, Biscayne Bay and the Miami River. – One of Miami’s last stands of a natural hardwood hammock exists in Brickell! The City of Miami’s Simpson Park, named after early Miami botanist Charles Torrey Simpson, provides a shady, natural oasis in a most unlikely location. It’s a hidden gem ready for you to explore and learn about the trees, plants and critters that call it home.
