Baking in Historic Places – Mango Bread at the Scottish Rite Temple
Saturday, May 3, 2025 | 9 am – 12 pm
Join Dade Heritage Trust’s beloved Baker in Residence, Lucia Meneses, for a fun and flavorful morning at the next Baking in Historic Places workshop! Participants will make, bake—and take home—a delicious one-bowl mango bread, all while enjoying the historic charm of the Scottish Rite Temple, Miami’s first Art Deco building.
Located in the Lummus Park Historic District along the Miami River, the Scottish Rite Temple offers a unique backdrop for this hands-on culinary experience. Park behind the building and enter through the back door, which leads straight into a spacious commercial kitchen. Prefer public transit? The venue is just a four-block walk from Government Center Metrorail station.
