Dade Heritage Trust is Miami-Dade County’s largest historic preservation organization. Founded in 1972, DHT’s mission is to preserve our community’s architectural, environmental, and cultural heritage through education and advocacy.
Dade Heritage Trust’s current initiatives include the preservation of naturally occurring affordable housing, our K-12 Historic Places, Green Spaces Education Program, architectural and historical documentation (surveys) of Miami-Dade County neighborhoods, the Miami Canopy Coalition organized to preserve, protect, and enhance the urban tree canopy, and on-going efforts to preserve places that matter in our community.
DHT also presents a variety of public programs including bike tours, Baking in Historic Places, and free Sunday tours of the historic Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables.
