Satisfy your thirst for adventure on a cool ride led by Commissioner Rhonda  Anderson around some of Coral Gables’ most beautiful liquid assets. We will see  the waterway and other important water features including the historic Venetian  Pool and the majestic De Soto Fountain. Presented in partnership with the City of  Coral Gables. On this tour, guided by a  local expert, you will learn about the lush treescape that makes Coral Gables the  “City Beautiful”. Our tour guide, former City Commissioner Ralph Cabrera, will take us to see the  grand entrances that were part of George Merrick’s masterplan 100 years ago to  impress City visitors. Visit those magnificent gateways and learn some fun facts  about local history and architecture, including the political connections Merrick had  to the construction of the Tamiami Trail. Phineas Paist (1873-1937) was the supervising architect for the Coral Gables  Corporation during the founding of the City 100-years ago. His buildings include City  Hall, the Venetian Pool, the Colonnade Building, and the San Sebastian Apartment  Hotel. His work is part of the glue that holds the image of Coral Gables together.
