Join our tour guide Mayor Vince Lago as we explore the historic area where the Bahamian settlers resided who were crucial in the creation of Coral Gables 100  years ago. Held during Black History month, learn about the history of the  Bahamian immigrants in the MacFarlane Homestead Historic District, the  beginnings of the neighborhood and the stories the original buildings tell. Phineas Paist (1873-1937) was the supervising architect for the Coral Gables  Corporation during the founding of the City 100-years ago. His buildings include City  Hall, the Venetian Pool, the Colonnade Building, and the San Sebastian Apartment  Hotel. His work is part of the glue that holds the image of Coral Gables together.
